YCK Chapel’s mission statement foregrounds the Great Commission as its raison d’etre:
“To glorify God by living the Gospel and making disciples to reach the world for Christ.”

Our local church has engaged in global missions for over 40 years, with some members as “sent” missionaries and many others as senders, supporters and mobilisers. These courageous and inspiring men and women went to hard places such as the African continent, Indonesia, India and Central Asia- serving needy communities, learning the local languages, teaching God’s Word, sharing the gospel, discipling young believers, church planting, strengthening fledgling Gospel communities, leading and administering teams.

This book recollects and celebrates how God has taken YCK Chapel on a cross-cultural journey.

In Acts 1:8, Jesus said “You will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” These are the final words of the Lord before His ascension to heaven. As His church at YCK Chapel, “May His last words be our first concern” (Dr J E Haggai). When Jesus returns, may He find us faithful as His witnesses-living the Gospel and making disciples to reach the world for Him.
